Well first off, you may be feeling overwhelmed by the thought of listing your home during the holidays—parties, decorating, cooking and wrapping all come to my mind when I think about the month of December. However, what also comes to my mind are serious buyers, beautifully decorated homes, great scents from the kitchen and fresh Christmas tree and SALES!
While other sellers take their home off the market, you can put yourself ahead of the game and make your home get noticed! Since inventory levels typically drop from November to December and then begin to pick up in January, if you are a seller in December, you are increasing your chances of having showings and getting your home sold, because there is less competition! It’s true, the number of buyers during this season is lower than your typical spring and summer wave of “potentials”, but the buyers that are out there are SERIOUS. They have their family in town, they’re motivated and, after all, it is the season to buy!
So, in summary, although it may be a bit more of an effort to list and show your property during the holiday season, it truly is a great time to be on the market!
